Browser storage and measurement notice

The current browser storage, consent and optional measurement behavior.

This notice reflects the current implementation and must be updated whenever measurement providers change.

Last updated: 26 July 2026

Current storage

TalkSonar does not rely on advertising cookies in the current public-site implementation. It uses browser storage for site preferences and controlled measurement.

  • talksonar-theme: local storage for the selected colour theme.
  • locale: local storage for a language preference used by shared site components.
  • talksonar-analytics-consent: local storage for the measurement choice.
  • talksonar-acquisition-context: session storage for campaign tags and referrer domain after consent.

Optional measurement

Measurement is blocked until you select Accept analytics. Declining leaves measurement disabled. The choice can be changed by clearing site storage in your browser.

If a valid Google Analytics measurement identifier is configured, its script loads only after consent. If no identifier is configured, filtered events remain in the site's controlled event layer and are not sent to Google Analytics.

No marketing trackers

The current implementation does not include advertising pixels or retargeting tools. This notice must be revised before introducing them.
